Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sahl bin Sa’d narrates that I have not seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raising his hands in supplication on the pulpit, nor elsewhere, and indeed I have seen that his both hands were at the level of his shoulders while supplicating.

Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not raise his hands in any supplication except in the supplication for rain (Istisqa).

Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to us and said: What is the matter with me that I see your hands being raised like the tails of startled horses? Remain calm in prayer.
