Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: O Allah! I make a covenant with You which You will fulfill on the Day of Resurrection. Surely, You do not break Your promise. Indeed, I am a human being. Any Muslim whom I have caused harm to, or spoken harshly to, or he said: whom I have struck, or whom I have cursed, then grant him mercy. And purify him, and grant him such closeness that You bring him near to Yourself on the Day of Resurrection.

Hazrat Salman narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I am from the children of Adam. So, if there is any person from my Ummah upon whom I have invoked a curse or whom I have spoken harshly to without them deserving it, then You (O Allah), grant them mercy.

Hazrat Jabir narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah! Any believing servant upon whom I have invoked a curse, or whom I have spoken harshly to, or whom I have struck—make these things a means of purification and reward for him.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: O Allah! Surely, I am a human being. So, if I have spoken harshly to any Muslim, or cursed anyone, or lashed anyone, then purify them and bestow mercy upon them.

Hazrat Jabir narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made a supplication similar to the previous hadith, but at the end he said: Grant purity and reward.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that two men sought permission from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so he expressed anger towards them and spoke harshly to them. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Everyone has received goodness from you. So these two did not receive goodness from you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know what covenant I have made with my Lord?" Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) asked: "What covenant have you made with your Lord?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have said: O Allah! Any believing servant whom I have spoken harshly to, or upon whom I have invoked a curse, or whom I have struck—then grant him so much and so much forgiveness and well-being."
