Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Amir bin Sa’d narrates that his father, Hazrat Sa’d, said: Whoever, upon hearing the voice of the muezzin, says these words: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah; I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as my Prophet, then all the sins of that person are forgiven. Then a man said to him: O Sa’d! Are all his past and future sins forgiven? Hazrat Sa’d replied: No, I only heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say this much.

Hazrat Umm al-Mu’minin Umm Salamah narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me: Recite these words at the time of the Maghrib adhan: O Allah! At the coming of the night and the departure of the day, and at the voices of Your callers, and at the time of Your prayer being established, forgive me.
