Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Sarmah narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to supplicate: O Allah! I ask You for sufficiency for myself and sufficiency for my relatives.

Hazrat Abdullah narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: O Allah! I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and contentment from all except You.

Hazrat Muslim bin Yasar narrates that among the supplications of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was this supplication: O Allah! Splitter of the dawn and bringer of the morning, the One who makes the night a time of rest, and the One who causes the sun and the moon to move according to a set measure, remove debt from me, and make me free from poverty and need, and grant me benefit in using my hearing, my sight, and my strength in Your path.

Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair says that whenever a person prays, he should say: O Allah! Make me and my relatives independent of everyone except You.

Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit used to supplicate with this prayer: O Allah! I ask You for safety and faith, for patience and gratitude, and for contentment and chastity.
