Hadith 31134
Hazrat Abdullah says that when any one of you has an imam imposed over him and a person fears his anger and oppression, then he should say: O Allah! Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the mighty Throne, be my helper against so-and-so and his armies and his supporters, lest they oppress me or rebel against me. Your neighbor is honored, and great is Your praise, and there is no deity except You. But Abu Muawiyah added to this: A’mash says that I mentioned this hadith before Ibrahim, and he also narrated this hadith from Hazrat Abdullah, but Ibrahim added this phrase: "from the evil of jinn and mankind."
Hadith 31136
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: When you appear before a fearsome king and you fear that he will be harsh with you, then say this three times: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is more honorable than all His creation, I seek refuge with Allah, besides whom there is no deity, who restrains the seven heavens from falling upon the earth except by His permission, from the evil of Your such-and-such servant, and from the evil of his armies and followers and supporters, whether they are from among the jinn or mankind. O Allah! Be my helper against their evil, exalted is Your praise, honored is Your protection, blessed is Your name, and there is no deity except You.
Hadith 31137
Hazrat Amir says that I was sitting with Ziyad bin Abi Sufyan when a man was brought in dragging, and we had no doubt that he would be killed. Amir says: I saw him, his lips were moving slightly, I did not know what he was saying. Amir says, then Ziyad set him free. Then among the people, a man turned towards him and said: Indeed, you were brought here and we had no doubt that you would be killed. Then I saw that for some reason your lips were moving, we did not know what it was. The man said, then Ziyad set you free! That person said: I recited this supplication: O Allah! Nurturer of Ibrahim, and Nurturer of Ishaq, and Nurturer of Yaqub, and Lord of Jibreel, Mikaeel, and Israfeel, and Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, and the Great Qur’an, remove from me the evil of Ziyad.
Hadith 31138
Hazrat Hasan bin Hasan says that Abdullah bin Ja'far married off his daughter, and when he took her aside in privacy, he advised her: Whenever you face death or any bad matter from the affairs of the world, then receive it with these words: There is no deity except Allah, Who is Wise and Generous, Allah Who is the Lord of the Mighty Throne, free from all defects, all praise is for Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. Hazrat Hasan bin Hasan says: Then I was summoned to Hajjaj, so I recited these words. When I stood before him, he said: Indeed, I was sent for you and I intended to strike your neck, but now you and anyone from your family have become very honorable to me, so ask from me whatever you need.
Hadith 31140
Hazrat Alqamah bin Murtad says that when someone became a close companion of Imam Sha’bi, he would teach him this supplication: O Allah! Lord of Jibreel, Mika’eel, and Israfeel, and Lord of Ibrahim, Isma’eel, and Ishaaq! Grant me well-being, and do not impose upon me anyone from among Your creation whom I do not have the strength to face. Hazrat Alqamah says that a man was brought before the ruler, so he recited these words, and the ruler set him free.
Hadith 31142
Hazrat Abu Majliz says: Whoever fears the oppression of an authority should recite these words: I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, with Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as my Prophet, and with the Qur'an as my judge and leader. Allah will grant him deliverance from his fear.
