Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Jabir narrates that Hazrat Amir said: Women will be struck with a blow lighter than the usual blow, and they will be struck with a whip that is light, and their faces will be spared, and they will not be beaten by extending the hand excessively, nor will they be beaten after being stripped naked.

Hazrat Suwar narrates that I was present with Hazrat Abu Barzah when he struck his slave girl who had committed adultery. She was wearing a veil, and he struck her in such a way that it was neither too severe nor too light.

Hazrat Sufyan states that Hazrat Amir said: Women should not be stripped naked, nor should they be struck with a long hand, and a light blow instead of a common blow, and a lighter whip than a whip should be used, and their faces should be spared.
