Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Awza'i says that Hazrat Zuhri stated: If a person accuses someone and then that person forgives him and makes witnesses, then after that he brings him again to the Imam, he will be held accountable for it, even if thirty years have passed.

Ibn Aun narrates that I asked Hasan Basri and Ibn Sirin about a person who falsely accused another man, and then that person forgave him, so what is the ruling? Hasan Basri said: No, and Ibn Sirin said: I do not know.

Hazrat Razeeq narrates that I wrote to Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz regarding a man who had accused his son, so his son said: If my father is flogged, I will confess. Hazrat Umar wrote back to me: Flog him unless he forgives him.
