Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Mughira narrates that it is reported from Ibrahim and Hazrat Sha'bi regarding a free man who marries a Jewish woman or a Christian woman and then commits adultery, both of them said: He will be flogged and will not be stoned.

Hazrat Ibn Tawoos narrates that his father, Hazrat Tawoos, held the opinion that a free man cannot become a muhsan except through a free Muslim woman.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Abi Talha narrates that when Hazrat Ka'b intended to marry a Jewish or Christian woman, he asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade him from doing so and said: "Indeed, she cannot make you a muhsan (protected/married man)."

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) did not consider a polytheist woman to be chaste.

Hazrat Nafi' reports that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Whoever associates partners with Allah is not considered a muhsan.

Yunus narrates that Hasan Basri used to say: When a man marries a woman while she is a non-Muslim, he does not make her a muhsan until he has intercourse with her in Islam.
