Regarding the Person Found Drinking Alcohol in Ramadan: What Is His Punishment?
Hadith 30600
٣٠٦٠٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن حجاج عن عطاء بن أبي مروان عن أبيه قال: (أتي) (١) علي برجل شرب خمرا في رمضان، فجلده ثمانين وعزره عشرين (٢).
Hazrat Abu Marwan narrates that a man was brought to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) who had drunk alcohol during the month of Ramadan, so he (Ali) gave him eighty lashes and twenty lashes as an additional punishment beyond the prescribed limit.
Hadith 30601
٣٠٦٠١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو خالد عن حجاج عن أبي سنان البكري قال: أتي محمر برجل شرب خمرًا في رمضان، فضربه ثمانين وعزره عشرين (١).
Hazrat Abu Sinan Al-Bakri narrates that a man was brought to Hazrat Umar who had drunk alcohol during Ramadan, so he (Umar) gave him eighty lashes and twenty lashes as an additional punishment beyond the prescribed limit.
Hadith 30602
٣٠٦٠٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو خالد عن حجاج عن أبي إسحاق عن الأسود بن هلال عن عبد اللَّه مثله (١).
Hazrat Aswad bin Hilal also narrated the aforementioned statement from Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud.
