Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Hakam and Hazrat Hammad state that it is narrated from Ibrahim regarding the slave woman who is under the authority of a free man; if he accuses that slave woman, he said: the prescribed punishment (hadd) will not be carried out on her, nor will he perform li'an.

Hazrat Mutarrif narrates that it is reported from Hazrat Aamir regarding the slave-girl who is under the authority of a free man, and then that free man accuses her. He said: The prescribed punishment (hadd) will not be carried out on either of them, nor will there be li'an (mutual cursing).

It is narrated from Hazrat Tawus, Hazrat Mujahid, Ibrahim, and Hazrat Shabi regarding the person who has a slave girl under his authority and he accuses her; all these personalities have said: There will be no li'an between them, nor will the punishment of qazf be imposed on the one who accuses the slave girl.

Hazrat Sha’bah narrates that it is reported from Hazrat Hakam and Hazrat Hammad regarding a slave who is married to a free woman, and then he accuses her. Both of these personalities said: They will be flogged.

Hazrat Abdul Malik states that Hazrat Ata was asked about a Jewish woman: can she perform li'an (mutual cursing) with a Muslim man? He replied: No, and neither can a slave perform li'an with a free woman, but that slave will be flogged.

Hazrat Mutarrif narrates that it is reported from Hazrat Hakam and Hazrat Aamir regarding the slave whose wife is freed: it was said that he will be flogged and there will be no li'an between them, and the child will be attributed to him. And Hazrat Aamir and Hazrat Hakam, both of these personalities, said regarding the freed man who had a slave woman under him, then she brought a child and he denied the child. Both of them said: there will be no li'an between them and the child will be attributed to him.

Hazrat Muammar narrates that it is reported from Hazrat Zuhri regarding the slave that when he accuses her, he will be given lashes and he will not perform li'an. And when a slave woman is under a free man and he accuses her, then neither will he be given lashes nor will he perform li'an. And when a slave woman is under a slave and he accuses her, then neither will he be given lashes nor will he perform li'an.
