Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Harith narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The punishment for both a small and large amount of alcohol is the same number of lashes.

Hazrat Amr states that it is narrated from Hasan Basri regarding a small or large amount of alcohol that even if it is a single sip, the prescribed punishment will be enforced.

Hazrat Muhammad bin Salim narrates that Hazrat Sha'bi said: Whoever drinks a small or large amount of alcohol, the prescribed punishment (hadd) will be imposed on him.

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj states that Hazrat Ata said: If a person drinks such an amount of an intoxicating substance that he reaches a state of intoxication, then indeed the prescribed punishment becomes obligatory upon him.

Hazrat Husain bin Abdur Rahman narrates that Hazrat Umar said: Whoever drinks a small or large amount of alcohol, the prescribed punishment (hadd) will be imposed on him.

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj states that Hazrat Ata said: There is no prescribed punishment for any drink until it causes intoxication, except for wine.

Hazrat Sufyan narrates from a man that Ibrahim said: For wine, whether in small or large quantity, flogging will be administered.
