Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Nadrah narrates that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: The tallest building in the town will be identified, then he will be thrown down from that building headlong, then he will be pelted with stones.

Hazrat Mujahid and Hazrat Saeed were heard giving the ruling about a man who was found or caught committing sodomy: He should be stoned to death.

Hazrat Yazid bin Qais narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) stoned to death a person who committed sodomy.

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj states that it is narrated from Hazrat Ata regarding a person who fulfills his need with a man; he said: His ruling will be the same as that of a woman in terms of punishment.

Hazrat Jabir narrates that Hazrat Amir said, "He will be stoned to death, whether he is married or not."

Hazrat Hammad states that Ibrahim said: The punishment for a sodomite will be like that of an adulterer; if he is married, then stoning, and if he is unmarried, then lashes.

Hazrat Hisham states that Hasan Basri said, "A person who commits sodomy will be considered at the level of an adulterer."

Hasan Basri and Ibrahim said: The one who commits sodomy will be in the rank of an adulterer.

Hazrat Hammad bin Abu Sulaiman states that Ibrahim said regarding the one who commits sodomy: If anyone were to be stoned twice, it would be him.

Hazrat Ibn Abi Dhi'b states that Hazrat Zuhri said: A sodomite will be stoned if he is married, and if he is unmarried, he will be given one hundred lashes.

Ibrahim and Hazrat Hakam said regarding the sodomite: He will be given lashes less than the prescribed limit.

Hazrat Qatadah says that Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Mu’ammar stated: The punishment of stoning will be obligatory for this, similar to the manner of killing the people of Lut.

Hazrat Qatadah says that Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid stated: The prohibition of the anus is greater than the prohibition of such-and-such. Hazrat Qatadah said: We used to interpret this as deserving of stoning.

Hazrat Abu Husain narrates that Hazrat Usman once looked out from his house and said: Do you know that the blood of a Muslim person is not lawful except in the case of four people: one who commits the act of the people of Lut.
