Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ash'ath narrates that it is reported from Hasan Basri regarding a Christian who falsely accuses a Muslim; he said: He will be given the same eighty lashes.

Hazrat Tariq narrates that I was present with Hazrat Sha'bi when he ordered eighty lashes to be given to a Christian who had accused a Muslim falsely.

Hazrat Hisham bin Urwah narrates that Hazrat Urwah said: When a Christian accuses a Muslim falsely, the prescribed punishment (hadd) will be imposed on him.

Hazrat Ibn Abi Dhi'b states that Imam Zuhri said regarding the dhimmis: They will be flogged for the crime of accusing Muslims falsely.

Hazrat Mutarrif narrates that Hazrat Aamir said: A Muslim and a Nabatean person came to me; indeed, each of them had falsely accused his companion. He says: I flogged the Nabatean and let the Muslim go. So he (the Nabatean) went to Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz and mentioned it before him. He (Umar bin Abdul Aziz) said: He did well.

Hazrat Asim narrates that I was present with Imam Shabi when he struck a Christian who had accused a Muslim falsely. He said: "Strike, but do not expose your armpit."
