Regarding the Man Who Harms Another and Then a Settlement Is Made, After Which the Person Dies
Hadith 29806
٢٩٨٠٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا قبيصة بن عقبة قال: حدثنا سفيان عن ابن جريج عن أبي عبيد اللَّه عن ابن عباس في رجل قطعت يده فصالح عليها ثم انتقضت يده فمات، قال: الصلح مردود، و (يؤخذ بالدية) (١) (٢).
Hazrat Abu Ubaidullah narrates that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) was asked about a person whose hand had been cut off, then he reconciled with the other party, but afterwards his hand deteriorated and he died. He said: The reconciliation is rejected and blood money (diyah) will be taken.
