Hadith 29754
٢٩٧٥٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا حفص عن الشيباني عن حماد في أربعة شهدوا على رجل بالزنى فرجم، ثم رجع أحدهم، قال: (عليه) (١) ربع الدية.
Hazrat Shaibani states that Hazrat Hammad said regarding those four men who testified against a man for committing adultery, so he was stoned to death, then one of them retracted his testimony, he (Hammad) said: one-fourth of the blood money will be obligatory upon him.
Hadith 29755
٢٩٧٥٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو أسامة عن سعيد عن مطر عن عكرمة في أربعة شهدوا على رجل بحد، ثم أكذب أحدهم نفسه، قال: يغرم ربع الدية
Hazrat Matar says that four men testified against a man regarding a hadd punishment, then one of them retracted his testimony. Upon this, Hazrat Ikrimah stated regarding them that this person will be held responsible for paying a quarter of the blood money (diyat).
Hadith 29756
٢٩٧٥٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا، أبو أسامة عن سعيد عن قتادة عن الحسن قال: (يُقتل) (١) وعلى الآخرين الدية.
Hazrat Qatadah says that Hasan Basri stated: This person will be killed and blood money will be obligatory upon the others.
Hadith 29757
٢٩٧٥٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا محمد بن يزيد عن أيوب أبي العلاء قال: قال أبو هاشم في أربعة شهدوا على رجل بالزنى ثم رجع أحدهم: عليه ربع الدية.
Ayub Abu Al-Ala reports that Hazrat Abu Hashim, regarding those four people who testified to adultery against a man and then one of them retracted, said: In this case, a quarter of the blood money (diyat) will be obligatory upon him. And Hazrat Ibn Sirin said: If he says, "I made a mistake and intended someone else besides him," then blood money will be obligatory upon him. And if he says, "I deliberately intended to kill him," then in that case, he will be killed in retribution (qisas) in exchange for him.
