Regarding Blood for Which the Ruler Will Judge
Hadith 29747
٢٩٧٤٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن الأعمش عن عمارة عن عبد الرحمن بن (يزيد) (١) قال: قال (سلمان) (٢): (أما) (٣) الدم فيقضي فيه عمر (٤).
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Yazid narrates that Hazrat Salman Farsi said: In any case, Hazrat Umar will decide regarding the blood.
Hadith 29748
٢٩٧٤٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع (قال: حدثنا) (١) مسعر عن عبد الملك بن ميسرة عن النزال بن سبرة قال: كتب عمر إلى أمراء الأجناد أن لا تقتل نفس دوني (٢).
Hazrat Nazzal bin Sabrah narrates that Hazrat Umar wrote a letter to the commanders of the armies: No one shall be killed without my permission.
Hadith 29749
٢٩٧٤٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا حفص عن أشعث عن ابن سيرين قال: كان لا يقضى في دم دون أمير المؤمنين.
Hazrat Ash'ath narrates that Hazrat Ibn Sirin said: No decision regarding any blood can be made without the Commander of the Faithful.
Hadith 29750
٢٩٧٥٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبدة عن عبيد اللَّه بن عمر عن نافع عن ابن عمر أن جارية لحفصة سحرتها ووجدوا سحرها (واعترفت) (١) به، (فأمرت) (٢) عبد الرحمن بن زيد فقتلها، فبلغ ذلك عثمان فأنكره واشتد عليه، فأتاه ابن عمر فأخبره أنها سحرتها واعترفت به ووجدوا سحرها، فكأن عثمان إنما أنكر ذلك؛ لأنها قتلت بغير إذنه (٣).
Hazrat Nafi' reports that Hazrat Umar said: A slave girl of Hazrat Hafsa performed magic on her, and the people also felt the effects of the magic. That slave girl confessed to it. So, on the order of Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Zaid, she was killed. When Hazrat Uthman heard of this, he disliked it and became very angry. Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) came to him and informed him that the slave girl had performed magic on Hazrat Hafsa, had confessed to it, and the people had also found the effects of her magic. Thus, it seems Hazrat Uthman disliked it because she was killed without his permission.
