Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ash'ath narrates that Hazrat Muhammad bin Sirin said: A man made his son ride a horse so that he could display his strength. Then he pricked a nail into the horse's flank and shouted, causing the horse to kill his son in this manner. So, he (Muhammad bin Sirin) placed the blood money (diyah) upon the man's family, and did not make the father an heir to anything.

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj says that I asked Hazrat Ata about a man who kills his son by mistake. He replied: His family members will pay his blood money (diyah).

Hazrat Amr bin Dinar narrates that a man came to Abdul Malik bin Marwan who had killed his father and brother, so he said: "Especially from your wealth."
