Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Khallas narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whoever is killed in retribution according to the command of the Book of Allah, he will not receive blood money.

Hazrat Saeed has also narrated the aforementioned statement from Hazrat Umar with this chain of transmission.

Hazrat Hisham narrates that a man was being subjected to retribution (qisas) when he died. Upon this, Hasan Basri stated: He will not receive blood money (diyat). The Book of Allah has killed him.

Yunus reports that Hasan al-Basri, regarding the person who died during qisas (retaliation), said: He will not receive any blood money (diyah).

Hazrat Abu Saeed narrates that Hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar said: Whoever is killed due to the implementation of the prescribed punishment, there is no blood money (diyat) for him.

Hazrat Hisham states that a man was undergoing the enforcement of a hadd punishment when he died during the process. Regarding this, Hasan Basri and Muhammad said: He will not receive blood money (diyah).

Hazrat Umair bin Saeed narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When a person is subjected to the punishment of adultery, theft, or slander, and he dies in that state, then he will not be entitled to blood money (diyat).

Hazrat Umair bin Saeed Nakha'i narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whenever I established a hadd (prescribed punishment) on someone and he died as a result, I did not feel anything in my heart about it except regarding the one who drank alcohol; if he died, I would pay his blood money. And Sufyan narrated this addition: This is because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not establish any specific procedure regarding this.

Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Umar said: Whoever is killed in retaliation (qisas), his heirs will not receive blood money (diyat).
