Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Haneen narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who had deliberately killed his slave. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that he be given one hundred lashes and exiled for one year, and his share among the Muslims was abolished. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not have him killed in retribution.

The mentioned action of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is also transmitted from Abdullah bin Amr through this chain of narration.

Hazrat Mughira narrates that Hazrat Aamir Sha'bi said: When a man intentionally kills his slave, he will not be killed in retaliation.

Hazrat Khalid bin Abu Imran says that I asked Hazrat Salim and Hazrat Qasim about a person who has killed his own slave? Both of them replied: His punishment is that he should be killed, but even then, he will not be killed in retaliation.

Hazrat Amr bin Shu'aib narrates that Hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar used to say: The master will not be killed in retaliation for his slave, but he will be beaten, and he will be imprisoned for a long time, and he will be deprived of his share.
