Hazrat Mutarrif states that Hazrat Sha'bi said: The family members will not pay the blood money, neither in the case of reconciliation, nor in the case of intentional murder, nor in the case of a slave.

Hazrat Ubaidah says that Ibrahim stated: The family members will not pay the blood money, neither in the case of reconciliation, nor in the case of intentional murder, nor in the case of confession, and nor in the case of being a slave.

Hazrat Ash'ath narrates that Hasan Basri and Hazrat Sha'bi, both of these personalities, stated: In the case of an unintentional mistake, the blood money (diyah) will be upon the family, and in the case of intentional harm or reconciliation, the blood money will be obligatory from the wealth of the one who caused the harm.

Hazrat Hisham bin Urwah narrates that his father, Hazrat Urwah, used to say that in the case of intentional murder, the family members will not pay the blood money except by their own will, because the tribe pays the blood money in the case of a mistake.

Hazrat Jabir narrates that Hazrat Amir said: It was the custom among Muslims that the family members would not pay blood money, neither in the case of reconciliation, nor in the case of intentional murder, nor in the case of confession.

Hazrat Malik bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Imam Zuhri said: The established practice is that the family members will not pay the blood money for intentional murder except with their own consent.
