Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Yunus narrates that Hasan Basri said: The liability for the offense of a mukatab will be upon him; action will be initiated against him first.

Hazrat Shaibani states that Hazrat Hammad said: The mukatab will strive (work) for compensation and the property of the contract of manumission according to the respective shares.

Hazrat Ibn Abi Dhi'b states that Hazrat Zuhri said: The compensation for the crime of a mukatab will be his own responsibility.

Hazrat Abu Ma'shar narrates that Ibrahim said: The compensation for the offense committed by a mukatab will be obligatory upon his master.

Hazrat Mughira narrates that Ibrahim said: If a mukatab commits an offense, he will pay both the compensation for the offense and the remaining amount of his contract of manumission.

Hazrat Waki' says that I heard Hazrat Safwan saying that the compensation for the crime of a mukatab will be his own responsibility.
