Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Khallas that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) made the two people sitting behind guarantors.

Hazrat Sha'bi narrates that Hazrat Shurayh said: There is no liability upon the rider who sits behind another rider.

Hazrat Shaibani states that Hazrat Sha'bi said regarding the rider sitting behind another rider that both of them will be partners.

Hazrat Ash'ath narrates that Hasan Basri said: The rider and the one sitting behind will be equal; whatever the mount has trampled and whatever liability there will be, it will be divided half and half between the two of them.

Hazrat Abu Alaa narrates that Hazrat Qatadah and Hazrat Abu Hashim, both of them stated: The one sitting behind the rider will be just as responsible as the one sitting in front.

Hazrat Shaibani states that Hazrat Sha'bi said: The person sitting behind the rider will also be held liable.
