Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ata that if a slave receives such a wound on his head or face that exposes the bone, then one twentieth of his value will be paid as compensation.

Hazrat Sha'bi says that for a slave's "muwaddiha," one-twentieth of his value will be given as diyah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sha'bi that Qazi Shurayh gave the verdict that in the case of a slave's tooth or a wound on the head or face, the compensation should be equal to the value of the slave, that is, one twentieth of his value, just as is done in the case of wounds to the teeth, head, or face of a free man.

Hazrat Sha'bi narrates from Hazrat Qazi Shurayh in the same manner.

Ibrahim said that the compensation for a slave’s wound is calculated according to his price, just as the compensation for a free man’s wound is calculated according to his blood money, that is, one-tenth or one-twentieth part.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib said that the blood money of a slave will be according to his price.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib said that the compensation for a slave's wound is according to his value, just as the compensation for a free man is according to his blood money. And Zuhri says that people say this slave is a property, therefore, the amount by which his value decreases, the compensation will be according to that.

Hazrat Ibn Sirin said that the rulings regarding the wounds of slaves are based on the same principles as the rulings regarding the wounds of free men.

Hasan said that if a free man causes harm to a slave, he will pay the owner the amount by which the slave's value has decreased.

Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz said that the blood money of a slave is according to his price, just as the compensation for a free person is according to his blood money.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the rulings regarding the wounds of slaves will be based on the same principles as the rulings regarding the wounds of free men.
