Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "In one part, there is half of the blood money (diyah)."

Hazrat Asim also narrates from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) in the same manner.

Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair, and Hazrat Amr bin Shu'aib—all of them have stated that both testicles are equal.

Hazrat Mujahid said that the full blood money (diyah) will be given for the testicles, that is, fifty camels for each.

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj narrates from Hazrat Ata that I asked him about the testicles. He said that the compensation (diyat) for each is fifty camels, but I have not heard this from any reliable (thiqah) narrator.

It is narrated from Abdullah that the two testicles are equal (i.e., in terms of blood money).

Hazrat Abdullah said that the testicles are equal in blood money.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib said that for the left testicle, two-thirds of the blood money (diyah) is due, and for the right, one-third of the blood money is due. Dawood says that I asked why this is so? He replied that this is because when the left testicle is lost, offspring cannot be produced, and if the right is lost, offspring can still be produced.

Hazrat Mansoor said that when I related this matter to Ibrahim, he replied that both are equal.
