Blood Money for Blinding a Blind Eye
Hadith 28807
٢٨٨٠٧ - (حدثنا أبو بكر قال) (١): حدثنا حفص وعبد الرحيم عن يحيى بن سعيد عن (بكير) (٢) بن عبد اللَّه بن الأشج عن سليمان بن يسار عن زيد بن ثابت أنه (٣) قال: قضي في العين القائمة إذا طفئت مائة دينار (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit that when a blind eye is gouged out, there are one hundred "100" dinars for it.
Hadith 28808
٢٨٨٠٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن هشام عن قتادة عن سعيد بن المسيب قال: فيها ثلث [الدية.
Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib said that in this case, one-third of the blood money (diyah) will be due.
Hadith 28809
٢٨٨٠٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو أسامة عن هشام عن الحسن قال: فيها ثلث] (١) ديتها.
Hasan said that in this there will be one-third of the blood money.
Hadith 28810
٢٨٨١٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن محمد بن إسحاق عن يزيد ابن عبد اللَّه بن (قسيط) (١) إن عمر بن عبد العزيز قضى في عين قائمة (بخصت) (٢) بمائة دينار.
It is narrated from Hazrat Yazid bin Abdullah bin Qasit that Umar bin Abdul Aziz decreed one hundred dinars as compensation for an eye that was blinded and removed.
Hadith 28811
٢٨٨١١ - (حدثنا أبو بكر قال) (١): حدثنا حفص عن أشعث عن الحسن والشعبي.
Hazrat Hakam, Hammad, and Ibrahim have stated that in the case of a blind eye (being punctured), the decision rests with just men.
Hadith 28813
٢٨٨١٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن أبي هلال عن قتادة عن ابن بريدة عن يحيى بن يعمر عن ابن عباس قال: في العين القائمة إذا (بخصت) (١) ثلث ديتها (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that when a blind eye is removed, one-third of the blood money is due for it.
Hadith 28814
٢٨٨١٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن جابر عن عامر عن مسروق قال: في (العين) (١) العوراء حكم.
Hazrat Masrooq said that there is a ruling regarding an inflamed eye.
Hadith 28815
٢٨٨١٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن سعيد عن قتادة عن عبد اللَّه بن بريدة عن يحيى بن يعمر عن ابن عباس عن عمر في العين (العوراء) (١) إذا (بخصت) (٢) -كانت قائمة- ثلث ديتها (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Umar that if a diseased eye is pierced while it was still in its place, then one-third of the blood money (diyah) is due for it.
