Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding a tooth that when some tooth is broken, the owner of the tooth will be given a share equal to the loss of that tooth.

Ibrahim said that the ear and the nose are like the tooth, and for anything less than that, compensation will be according to its proportion.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz that for a tooth there are five camels, and if the tooth is broken but has not turned black, then compensation will be according to its condition.

It is narrated from Hazrat Shurayh that he used to determine compensation according to the amount of loss.

Hazrat Ata said that if a tooth breaks but does not turn black, then compensation (diyah) will be given according to its proportion.

It is narrated from Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair regarding a tooth that when a part of it becomes black, then compensation will be given in proportion to the broken part.

Hazrat Aamir said that if half or one-third of a tooth breaks and it remains white, then compensation will be given according to the broken portion.
