Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Musa narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: For each finger, the blood money is ten camels.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the ruling of ten camels as blood money for the fingers.

Hazrat Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) decreed ten camels as compensation (diyah) for each finger.

It is narrated in the same manner from a person of the family of Umar.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abdullah said that for each finger, one-tenth of the blood money is due.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that there is one-tenth of the blood money (diyah) in each finger.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz that for each finger, the compensation (diyah) is ten camels or an equivalent amount of gold or silver.

It is narrated from Ibrahim that for each finger, the share of blood money will be given by dividing it into five parts.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sha'bi that the compensation (diyah) for each finger is equal, and in it is one-tenth of the total compensation.

Hasan said: For every finger, there are ten camels in compensation.

It is narrated from Hazrat Zuhri that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) decreed ten camels (as compensation) for each finger.

It is narrated from Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib that Hazrat Umar gave the verdict of half the blood money of the palm for the thumb and the finger next to it, ten camels for the middle finger, nine camels for the finger next to it, and six camels for the little finger.

Hasan and Muhammad said that the blood money for each finger is ten camels.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), Ibn Masood, and Hasan used to say that for each and every finger, the compensation is ten camels.

Hazrat Umar bin Salamah narrates that when we were sitting with Khalid bin Abdullah, Abdul Malik bin Marwan sent us a letter stating that the fingers will be divided into three groups. Khalid joined the little finger with the one next to it (i.e., counted them together), joined the middle finger with the one next to it, and kept the thumb separate.

Ibrahim said that for each joint of the fingers, one third of the compensation for the fingers is due, except for the thumb, for each joint of which half of the compensation for the thumb is due.

Hazrat Mujahid said that for the thumb, fifteen camels; for the finger next to it, ten camels; for the finger next to that, eight camels; and for the last finger, seven camels will be given as blood money.

Hazrat Zaid said that for each joint of a finger, one third of the finger's blood money will be given, except for the thumb, because in the case of the thumb's joint being cut off, half of the thumb's blood money will be given, as it has only two joints.
