Blood Money for the Eye
Hadith 28582
٢٨٥٨٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن إدريس عن محمد بن عمارة عن أبي بكر بن عمرو بن (حزم) (١) قال: في كتاب رسول اللَّه ﷺ لعمرو بن حزم: "وفي العين خمسون" (٢).
Hazrat Abu Bakr bin Amr bin Hazm narrates that in the letter which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wrote to Amr bin Hazm, it was stated that for an eye, the compensation is fifty camels.
Hadith 28583
٢٨٥٨٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن أبي إسحاق عن عاصم ابن ضمرة عن علي قال: في العين نصف الدية (١).
Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that for the eye, there is half the blood money (diyah).
Hadith 28584
٢٨٥٨٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا ابن أبي ليلى عن عكرمة ابن خالد عن رجل من آل عمر قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "في العين خمسون" (١).
A person from the family of Umar said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is a compensation of fifty camels for the (loss of) an eye."
Hadith 28585
٢٨٥٨٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا محمد بن بكر عن ابن جريج قال: (قال) (١) عطاء: العين خمسون.
Hazrat Ata said that the compensation (diyah) for an eye is fifty camels.
Hadith 28586
٢٨٥٨٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا محمد بن فضيل عن أشعث عن الشعبي عن عبد اللَّه قال: في العين نصف الدية أخماسًا (١).
Hazrat Abdullah said that half the blood money for the eye will be divided into five parts.
Hadith 28587
٢٨٥٨٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو أسامة عن محمد بن عمرو عن عمر بن عبد العزيز قال: في العين نصف الدية.
Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz said that there is half diyat (blood money) for the eye.
