Narrations Regarding Laughing and Excessive Laughter
Hadith 28376
٢٨٣٧٦ - حدثنا عفان قال: حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن حميد عن الحسن قال: كثرة الضحك (تميت) (١) القلب.
Hazrat Humaid narrates that Hasan Basri said: Excessive laughter deadens the heart.
Hadith 28377
٢٨٣٧٧ - حدثنا عفان عن حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت عن الحسن قال: ضحك المؤمن غفلة من قلبه.
Hazrat Thabit narrates that Hasan Basri said: The laughter of a believer is a sign of heedlessness in his heart.
Hadith 28378
٢٨٣٧٨ - حدثنا وكيع عن مسعر عن عون قال: كان النبي ﷺ لا يضحك إلا تبسمًا ولا يلتفت إلا معًا (١).
Hazrat Aun narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not laugh except by smiling, and he would not turn his attention to someone except completely.
