Narrations Regarding Tale-Bearing
Hadith 28285
٢٨٢٨٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن همام بن الحارث عن حذيفة قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لا يدخل الجنة قتات" (١).
Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The tale-bearer will not enter Paradise.
Hadith 28286
٢٨٢٨٦ - حدثنا علي بن مسهر عن الشيباني عن واصل عن شقيق عن حذيفة قال: كنا نتحدث (أنه) (١): لا يدخل الجنة قتات (٢).
Hazrat Shaqiq narrates that Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We used to narrate that surely a tale-bearer will not enter Paradise.
Hadith 28287
٢٨٢٨٧ - حدثنا حفص (عن الأعمش) (١) عن أبي إسحاق عن عمرو بن ميمون قال: لما رفع اللَّه موسى نجيًا رأى رجلًا متعلقًا بالعرش فقال: (يا رب) (٢) من هذا؟ فقال: (عبد من عبادي صالح، إن شئت أخبرتك بعمله)، قال: يا رب أخبرني، قال: (كان لا يمشي بالنميمة).
Hazrat Abu Ishaq narrates that Hazrat Amr bin Maymoon said: When Allah Almighty honored Hazrat Musa with a private conversation, he saw a man clinging to the Throne. He asked: O Lord! Who is this person? Allah, the Lord of Honor, said: He is one of My righteous servants. If you wish, I can inform you about his deeds. He said: O Lord! Inform me. Allah, the Lord of Honor, said: This person did not indulge in tale-bearing.
Hadith 28288
٢٨٢٨٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن عبد الرحمن بن زيد قال: كانت لنا جارية أعجمية، فمرضت فجعلت تقول عند الموت: هذا فلان (تمرغ) (١) في الحمأة، فلما أن ماتت سألنا عن الرجل، قال: فقال: ما كان به بأس إلا أنه كان يمشي بالنميمة.
Ibrahim narrates that Abdur Rahman bin Yazid said: We had a non-Arab slave girl who fell ill. At the time of her death, she began to say: That person is rolling in filthy, foul-smelling soil. When she died, we inquired about that man. They said: There was nothing wrong with him except that he used to engage in tale-bearing.
