Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abzi narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would enter the morning, he would recite this supplication: Translation: We have entered the morning upon the nature of Islam and the word of sincerity, and upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and upon the way of our father Ibrahim, who was a true Muslim and was not among the polytheists.

Hazrat Abu Salam, who was a servant of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No Muslim, or any human, or any servant recites these words three times in the morning and evening: Translation! "I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as my Prophet," except that it is Allah's right to please him on the Day of Resurrection.

Hazrat Rubay’ bin Hirash narrates from a man of the Nakh’ tribe that Hazrat Salman Farsi said: Whoever recites these words in the morning: Translation: O Allah! You are my Lord, You have no partner. We have entered the morning and all dominion has entered the morning for Allah, and all praise is for Allah. He has no partner. And whoever recites the same in the evening, then this supplication will become an expiation for the sins committed between the two times.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Sabrah narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to recite this supplication morning and evening: Translation: O Allah! Make me among Your most excellent servants, granting me a share in the morning or evening from the goodness which You distribute, or from the light by which You guide, or from the mercy which You spread, or from the sustenance which You bestow, or from the hardship which You remove, or from the calamity which You avert, or from the trial which You turn away, or from the evil which You repel.

Hazrat Amr bin Murrah says that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib: When you people would begin the morning and evening, which supplication would you recite? He replied: We would recite this supplication: We seek refuge in the noble Face of Allah, and in the great Name of Allah, and in the complete Word of Allah, from the evil of death and from the evil of common things, and O Lord, from the evil of the creation You have created, and from the evil of that whose forelock is in Your grasp, and from the evil of this day and from the evil of what comes after it, and from the evil of this world and the Hereafter.

Musa Jahni narrates from a person that Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair said: Whoever recites this verse: Translation: "Glorify Allah when you enter the evening and when you enter the morning." If he recites the verse three times until he completes it, he will attain the reward of the deeds he missed during the night. And if he recites this verse at night, he will attain the reward of the deeds he missed during the day.

Hazrat Abu Ayyash narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever recites these words in the morning: Translation: There is no deity except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, His is the dominion and for Him is all praise, and He is powerful over everything. Then that person will receive the reward equal to freeing a slave from among the descendants of Ismail, and ten good deeds will be written for him, and ten of his sins will be erased, and ten ranks will be elevated for him, and he will remain protected from Satan until the evening. And when he recites these words in the evening, he will receive the same reward until he reaches the morning.
