Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Shuraid narrates that there was a person suffering from leprosy in the delegation of the tribe of Thaqif. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a messenger to him with the message that we have accepted your pledge of allegiance; you may return.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not keep looking continuously at people afflicted with leprosy.

Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Flee from a leper as you flee from a lion.

Hazrat Waleed bin Abdullah narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a person afflicted with leprosy, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) covered his nose. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Did you not say: There is no reality in contagion, and there is no reality in bad omen? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: Yes, indeed.

Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Do not bring the sick to the healthy.

Hazrat Nafi’ bin Jubair narrates that Hazrat Ka’b asked Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him): “Is there such a thing as bad omen?” He replied: “Yes!” He asked: “Then what supplication do you recite?” He replied: “I recite this supplication: Translation: O Allah! There is no bad omen except Your bad omen. And there is no good except Your good. And we have no Lord besides You.” Hazrat Ka’b said: “You are the greatest jurist among the Arabs.”

Hazrat Khalid Hadhdha says that Hazrat Abu Qilabah used to prefer that one should avoid a person afflicted with leprosy.
