Hazrat Simak says that the people were discussing handshaking, when Hazrat Nu'man bin Humaid said: I entered upon Hazrat Salman with my maternal uncle Hazrat 'Abbad bin Sharhabil. When Hazrat Salman saw them, he shook hands with them.

Hazrat Bara' narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Two Muslims do not meet each other and then shake hands, except that before they part, their sins are forgiven.

Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Should some of us shake hands with others?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes."

Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to shake hands with one another.

Hazrat Ghalib says that I mentioned before Imam Sha’bi that Hazrat Ibn Sirin considered handshaking to be disliked. Upon this, Imam Sha’bi said: The companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to shake hands with each other, and when any of them returned from a journey, he would embrace his companion.

Hazrat Mu'adh bin Mu'adh says that I asked Hazrat Ibn Aun about shaking hands. He replied: Imam Muhammad did not shake hands with us, nor did we with him, and when someone extended his hand, he would not withhold his hand from anyone.

Hazrat Laith states that Hazrat Ibn al-Aswad said: Indeed, shaking hands completes the greeting of peace.

Hazrat Abu Ishaq narrates that Hazrat Aswad said: Verily, shaking hands completes the greeting (salaam).

Hazrat Abu Umamah narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Your complete greeting is a handshake.
