(من كان يكره) أن يقول: عليك السلام
Disliking to say 'alayk as-salam'
Hadith 27367
٢٧٣٦٧ - حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن أبي (غفار) (١) عن أبي تميمة (الهجيمي) (٢) (عن أبي جري الهجيمي) (٣) قال: أتيت النبي ﷺ فقلت: عليك السلام يا رسول اللَّه، قال: "لا تقل: عليك السلام، فإن عليك السلام تحية الموتى" (٤).
Hazrat Abu Jari Al-Hujaymi narrates that I came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and I said: "Alaika as-salam, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not say 'Alaika as-salam.' For 'Alaika as-salam' is the greeting for the dead."
Hadith 27368
٢٧٣٦٨ - حدثنا عبدة بن سليمان عن سعيد عن قتادة أن رجلا سلم على النبي ﷺ فقال: عليك السلام (يا رسول) (١) اللَّه، فكره ذلك (النبي) (٢) وقال: "تيك تحية الموتى" (٣).
Hazrat Qatadah narrates that a man greeted the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in this manner: "Alaikas salam, O Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)," so the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked it and said: "This is the greeting of the dead."
Hadith 27369
٢٧٣٦٩ - حدثنا عبيد اللَّه عن حسن عن ليث عن طاوس أنه كره أن يقول: عليكم السلام، إنما قال: (و) (١) سلام على المرسلين.
Hazrat Laith says that Hazrat Tawus considered it undesirable to greet by saying, "Alaikum assalam." He said: Surely, one should say, "Salam (peace) be upon the messengers. May Allah be pleased with them."
