Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Hisham bin Urwah narrates that Hazrat Urwah had a comb made of elephant bones and an oil bottle made from elephant bones.

Hazrat Hisham says that I saw my father, Hazrat Urwah, applying oil from an oil bottle made of elephant bone.

Hazrat Ismail bin Umayyah narrates from his mother that the confidante of Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz informed that I took to him a bottle of oil or a comb made from elephant’s ivory, so he disliked it and said, “This is carrion.”

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj states that Hazrat Ata disliked the (use of) elephant's tooth.

Hazrat Laith states that Hazrat Tawus disliked the tooth of the elephant.

Hazrat Laith states that Hazrat Tawus absolutely disliked the elephant's tooth, and also disliked that a comb be made from it.
