Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Qais bin Saad narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A person has more right to ride on the back of his animal.

Hazrat Abu Saeed narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A person has more right to ride upon his mount, and when he returns to his place of sitting, he has more right to that place.

Hazrat Mansur says that Ibrahim stated: It used to be said: A person has more right to ride on the chest of his animal and to his own bed.

Hazrat Sufyan Attar narrates that I saw Imam Shabi sitting behind a man on a mount, and he was saying: The rider has more right to sit in front.

Hazrat Isa bin Asim narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man has more right to ride upon the chest of his animal, and a man has more right to his bed.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Buraidah narrates that Hazrat Mu'adh brought a riding animal to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so that he (peace and blessings be upon him) could ride it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "The owner of the animal has more right to ride it." Hazrat Mu'adh submitted: "O Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! This is for you." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rode it and seated Hazrat Mu'adh behind him.
