Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ismail bin Abi Khalid. He says that I saw Hazrat Shurayh tying a turban with a bundle.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sulaiman bin Abi Abdullah. He says: I saw the first of the Muhajireen tying cotton turbanss of white, black, red, green, and yellow colors. Some of them would place the turbans on their head, then put a cap over it, then wrap the turbans around in this way... that is, around its base... They would not bring it out from under their chin.

It is narrated from Hazrat Thabit bin Ubaid. He says that I saw Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit. He was wearing an izar, a sheet, and a turban.

Hazrat Ibn Tawoos narrates regarding Hazrat Usama bin Zaid that he used to dislike that the turban be tied without tucking a part of it under the beard and chin.
