Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Nafi'. He says that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to tie a turban and let it hang between his shoulders. Hazrat Ubaidullah says: Our elders told us that they saw the companions of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wearing turbans and letting them hang between their shoulders.

It is narrated from Hazrat Hisham. He says that I saw Hazrat Ibn Zubair wearing a turban, and he had let the ends of the turban hang in front of him.

Hazrat Amr bin Marwan narrates from his father. He says that I saw Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) wearing a turban, and he had let its end hang down.

It is narrated from Hazrat Salamah bin Wardaan. He says that I saw a turban on Hazrat Anas. He had let it hang down from behind.

Hazrat Ja'far bin Amr narrates from his father. He says: It is as if I am seeing the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he is wearing a black turban, and he has let its two ends hang between his shoulders.

It is narrated from Hazrat Muhammad bin Qais. He says that I saw Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) wearing a turban. He had let the turban hang in front of him and behind him. I do not know which of the two parts was longer.

Hazrat Awza'i narrates about Hazrat Mak'hool. He says that I saw him tying a turban. He did not let the end of the turban hang down.

It is narrated from Ismail. He says that I saw a turban on Hazrat Shurayh. He had let the end of the turban hang behind him.

Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Umar narrates about Hazrat Salim and Hazrat Qasim that both of these personalities used to let their turbans hang between their shoulders.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sulaiman bin Mughira. He says that I saw Hazrat Abu Nazra wearing a black turban. He let the turban hang down from beneath his neck.

It is narrated from Sulaiman. He says that I saw Hasan wearing a black turban. He let its end hang behind him.
