Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Rabee’ah. He says that I saw Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) tying his lower garment. Then I saw the mark of life on his (body).

It is narrated from Hazrat Qasim. He says that when Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) set out with the intention of Hajj or Umrah, she would take her slaves along with her to drive her howdah. Thus, those slaves would strike the belly of the mule with their feet. Upon this, Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) ordered them to wear trousers.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Al-Haitham. He says that Hazrat Salman states that woolen cloth is the best garment.

It is narrated from Hazrat Alaa bin Habib. He says that Hazrat Ammar bin Yasir was seen in a state of dying while he was in Arafat.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abi Najeeh. He says that my father used to wear a loincloth under the izar.

It is narrated from Hazrat A'mash. He says that I saw Hazrat Abu Sadiq wearing an izar (lower garment). So I saw the shin of his leg beneath his izar.

It is narrated from Hazrat Talha bin Yahya. He says that I saw Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Rabee'ah wearing a woolen cloak. The narrator says: The Sheikh, that is, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), used to wear a woolen cloak.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Qasim narrates from his father, regarding Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), that she used to order her slaves—while they were in the state of Ihram—to wear trousers.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas. He says that when Hazrat Abu Musa used to go to sleep, out of fear that his private parts might become exposed, he used to wear tight-fitting clothes.
