On Wearing Clothes with a Cross
Hadith 26405
٢٦٤٠٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد الوهاب عن أيوب عن محمد عن (دقره) (١) عن عائشة قالت: إنا لا نلبس الثياب التي (فيها) (٢) الصليب (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: We do not wear clothes that have a cross made on them.
Hadith 26406
٢٦٤٠٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا حميد بن عبد الرحمن عن حسن بن صالح عن أبي الجحاف قال: سألت أبا جعفر عن تابوت لي فيه تماثيل فقال: حدثني من رأى عمر يحرق ثوبًا فيه صليب ينزع الصليب منه (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu al-Jahaf that he says: I asked Hazrat Abu Ja'far about a coffin of mine in which there were pictures. So he replied: The person who himself saw Hazrat Umar told me that he (Umar) burned such a cloth in which a cross was made. He was removing the cross from it.
Hadith 26407
٢٦٤٠٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (محمد) (١) بن أبي عدي عن ابن عون ⦗٥١٩⦘ عن محمد أن النبي ﷺ رأى على بعض أزواجه سترًا فيه صليب، فأمر به (فقضب) (٢) (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Muhammad that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saw a curtain with a cross on it among one of his pure wives, so he, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered it to be cut.
