Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Alqamah narrates about Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud that he was asked regarding gold and silk for women (for their use)? So he replied: Women are your playthings, so adorn them with whatever you wish.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid that he said: Women have been permitted (the use of) silk and gold, then he recited this verse: (Or one who is brought up in ornaments and is in dispute not clear)

It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that Ukaydir of Duma presented a silk garment to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave that garment to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "Distribute this among the women."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa. He says that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said regarding silk and gold: "They are forbidden for the men of my Ummah and permitted for their women."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas. He says that I saw a pure silk shirt on Hazrat Zainab, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.

It is narrated from Hazrat Maimoon bin Mehran. He says that there is no harm for women in wearing dibaj and silk. The only cloth that is disliked for them is that which (covers the body insufficiently or is very thin).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ja'far that he says: Indeed, I clothe my daughters in silk and I adorn them with gold jewelry.
