Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ja'far bin Muhammad narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), gave instructions regarding the 'aqiqah that Fatimah performed for Husayn, that a leg from the 'aqiqah be sent to the wet nurse, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The bones of the 'aqiqah should not be broken."

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). She says that the animal for 'Aqiqah should be cooked after separating it at the joints, and its bones should not be broken.

Hazrat Ibn Abi Dhi'b narrates about Hazrat Zuhri. He says that I asked Hazrat Zuhri about 'Aqiqah. So he said: Its bones and head should not be broken, and the child should not be touched with its blood either.

It is narrated from Hazrat Nahas bin Qaham. He says that I heard Hazrat Ata say that the elders used to prefer that the bones of the 'Aqiqah not be broken.

Hazrat Hisham narrates regarding Hasan and Muhammad that both of these personalities disliked that the child's head be smeared with the blood of the 'Aqiqah, and Hasan's statement is: Blood is an impure thing.
