Those Who Dislike Sunlight and Say It Causes Illness
Hadith 25268
٢٥٢٦٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا شريك عن عبد الملك بن عمير (قال) (١): قال الحارث بن كلدة، وكان طبيب العرب: أكره الشمس (لثلاث) (٢): (تتفل) (٣) الريح، وتبلي الثوب، وتخرج الداء الدفين.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdul Malik bin Umair. He says that Harith bin Kalda, who was a physician of Arabia, said: I dislike the sun for three reasons. It makes the air heavy, it wears out clothes, and it brings out hidden diseases.
Hadith 25269
٢٥٢٦٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع (عن) (١) ثور عن محفوظ (بن) (٢) علقمة أن النبي ﷺ رأى رجلًا في الشمس، فقال: "تحول إلى الظل فإنه مبارك" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Mahfuz bin Alqamah that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man standing in the sun, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go towards the shade, for indeed it is a blessed thing."
Hadith 25270
٢٥٢٧٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عيسى بن يونس وأبوأسامة عن إسماعيل (عن) (١) قيس (٢) قال: جاء (٣) والنبي ﷺ (٤) يخطب، فقام بين يديه في الشمس، ⦗٢١٣⦘ فأمر به، فحول إلى الظل (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Qais, he says that my father came while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon. And (upon arrival) he stood in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the sun, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed him, and he moved towards the shade.
Hadith 25271
٢٥٢٧١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (أبو) (١) معاوية عن الأعمش عن (شمر) (٢) قال: قال عمر: استقبلوا الشمس بجباهكم، (فإنها) (٣) حمام العرب (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah, who says that Hazrat Umar said: "Turn your foreheads towards the sun, for this is the bathhouse of the Arabs."
