It is narrated from Hazrat Ubaid bin Rifa’ah Zurqi. He says that Hazrat Asma asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): “The children of Ja’far are very quickly affected by the evil eye. Should I have them treated with a ruqyah or amulet for the evil eye?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Yes, and if anything were to overtake destiny, it would be the evil eye that overtakes destiny.”

Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the house of Umm Salamah, and he saw a child in the house who was in distress. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the household about him. The people said, "We think he has been affected by the evil eye." Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not perform ruqyah (spiritual healing) for him because of the evil eye?"

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Babiyah, the freed slave of Jubair bin Mut’im, who says that Asma bint Umais reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The children of Ja’far are affected by the evil eye very quickly, so should I have them treated with ruqyah (spiritual healing)?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Yes.” And if I were to say that anything could precede destiny, I would say that the evil eye can precede destiny.”
Hadith 25140
Hazrat Abdullah bin Amir bin Rabi’ah narrates from his father. He says: I and Sahl bin Hunaif set out and we were looking for some shade. So we found some shade or a well, and each of us was shy to bathe lest someone see him. So he screened me until, when he saw that I had finished bathing, he took off the cloak he was wearing. Then he entered the water. I looked at him and found his physique very beautiful, because of which he was afflicted by the evil eye of prosperity. So he began to shiver violently in the water. I called him but he did not answer me. So I went to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him the whole matter. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Get up.” Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to him (Sahl), lifted up his blessed lower garment from his shin, and entered the water towards him. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) reached him, he struck his chest and then said: “O Allah! Remove from him its cold, heat, and pain.” Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Stand up.” So he stood up. Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When any of you sees something in himself, his wealth, or his brother that pleases him, he should pray for blessing for it, for the evil eye is real.”
Hadith 25141
Hazrat Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunaif narrates from his father that Hazrat Amir passed by Sahl while Sahl was bathing. Hazrat Amir said, "I have never seen anyone like this person today, nor have I ever seen such white skin." Then (suddenly) Hazrat Sahl fell to the ground, to the extent that due to the severity of the pain, he was not aware of anything. So, this matter was reported to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called Hazrat Amir and expressed anger at him and said: "You have killed him. On what basis does one of you kill his brother? Why did you not pray for blessing for him?" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him (Amir) and said, "Give him a bath." So he bathed, and went along with the caravan. Hazrat Zuhri says, "The point of knowledge is that the person who cast the evil eye is the one who should perform the bath." He says that a bowl of water should be brought, and then he should wash in that bowl. Then, with his left hand, he should pour water over his right hand, then with his right hand, pour water over his left hand, then put his left hand and pour water over his right elbow, and put his right hand and pour water over his left elbow, then wash his right foot, then wash his right hand, then wash his left foot. Then put his right hand and wash both knees. And he should hold his lower garment and pour this water over his head all at once. He should keep pouring until the bowl is empty.
