If a Person Has a Debt and Does Not Pay Despite Being Wealthy
Hadith 24910
٢٤٩١٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو أسامة عن سفيان وزهير عن أبي سنان عن شيخ من بني الهجيم قال: سمعت أبا هريرة يقول: أيما رجل كان عليه دين فأيسر فلم يقضه كان كآكل سحت (١).
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that whoever has a debt and, despite having the ability, does not pay it, then he is consuming what is unlawful.
Hadith 24911
٢٤٩١١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو أسامة عن أبي مكين عن عكرمة قال: أيما رجل كان عليه دين إلى أجل فأيسر ولم يقضه فقد هلك.
Hazrat Ikrimah says that if a person owes a debt for a fixed period, then becomes wealthy and still does not pay the debt, he is ruined.
