Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Shaddad that once Hazrat Hussain bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by a shepherd who was grazing goats. The shepherd brought a goat to him as a gift. Hazrat Hussain asked: "Are you free or a slave?" He replied, "I am a slave." Hazrat Hussain returned the goat to him. The shepherd said, "This is my property." So Hazrat Hussain accepted it from him. Then Hazrat Hussain (may Allah be pleased with him) bought the slave and his goats, freed the slave, and gave all the goats to him.
