Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sha’bi says regarding the person who has an oath along with one witness: It is not permissible for him except that two men give testimony, or one man and two women give testimony. Hazrat ‘Amir, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Even though the people of Madinah say that the testimony of two witnesses is accepted along with the claimant’s oath.

Hazrat Zuhri says that this is an innovation, and Hazrat Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) was the first to make this decision.
