Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Iyas bin Mu'awiyah used to say that the people of the houses have more right to the open space in front of their houses, and only the owners of the land are entitled to the division of their lands.

It is narrated from Hazrat Qatadah that Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, wrote: Whoever's water prevails over a piece of land, he is more entitled to its produce.
