A Person Pawns the Quran
Hadith 24632
٢٤٦٣٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن هشام عن الحسن ومحمد في الرجل يرهن المصحف بالقرض (قالا) (١): لا يقرأ (فيه) (٢) وإن أذن صاحبه، وإن كان في بيع فأذن له صاحبه قرأ فيه، (٣) وإلا لم يقرأ فيه.
It is narrated from Muhammad and Hasan that if a person gives the Qur'an as collateral in exchange for goods, he should not recite it even if the other person grants permission. However, if it is in a sale and his companion grants permission, then he may recite it; otherwise, he should not recite it.
