Hadith 24530
٢٤٥٣٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا هشيم عن عثمان (البتي) (١) عن بعض أصحاب إبراهيم (عن إبراهيم) (٢) في رجل أذن لعبده (فلحقه) (٣) دين، ومات المولى وعليه دين، قال: يُبدأ بدين المولى قبل دين العبد.
It is narrated from Ibrahim that a man gave his slave permission to trade, then the slave became indebted, and the master also died in such a state that the master was in debt. He said: The master's debt will be given precedence over the slave's debt. Al-Bati said: I was not surprised by this: the slave's debt will be given precedence over the master's debt, because he had given him absolute freedom.
Hadith 24531
٢٤٥٣١ - قال البتي: لا يعجبني ذلك، يُبدأ بدين العبد قبل دين المولى لأنه قد (أغلق) (١) رقبته.
24531 - Al-Bati said: I do not approve of that; the debt of the slave is to be given precedence over the debt of the master because his neck has been (encumbered) (1).
